Over time, a timber floor wears the story of everything that happens on it – games, assemblies, discos, exams, concerts, markets, fitness classes, you name it.

Our timber floor sanding and coating service is designed to bring tired stadiums, sports courts, school and community halls back to life so they are compliant, easier to clean, cheaper to maintain and look great again.

We work on indoor basketball and netball courts, school gyms, multi-purpose stadiums, PCYC and community centres throughout New South Wales and ACT.

What resanding actually does

Sanding removes old coatings, lines, scratches and worn patches from the timber floor. It is then coated with sports floor specific or commercial grade coatings to restore slip resistance (grip) and provide a durable, maintainable game ready finish.

For sports courts, that also means fresh line markings for all courts.

For school halls and community halls, it often means a full sand and coating system to deliver a durable and Fresh finish, ready for assemblies, performances and events.

If your facilities floor looks dull, patchy, slippery or permanently dirty no matter how much you clean it, it is probably ready for a resand

How we work

First, we check the condition of the floor and talk through how the space is used and assess the requirements of your particular venue. We then plan works around the venues calendar, often in school holidays or quiet periods, to minimise disruption.

Using large scale, purpose-built sanding machines suited to big areas, we remove the old finish and prepare the timber properly. This job can’t be done to the same standard or time frame with traditional walk behind machinery, Our Ride on equipment is built solely for this purpose! We then apply a high-quality coating system suited specifically to your venue – sports-grade for courts, FIBA approved for competition Basketball if required, or a hard-wearing hall finish for multi-purpose spaces.

If the venue has courts, we include sports court line marking in the same project.

Do you need a resand or just a recoat?

You may need a full resand if the floor is heavily scratched, uneven, slippery or has layers of old coating that no longer clean up. A maintenance recoat may be enough if the floor is still fairly even but has lost some grip and sheen.

If you are not sure of your venue’s requirements, we can assist with a few photos and some details.

Spacious empty room with polished wooden floors, white walls, chandeliers, and a white curtain dividing part of the space.
